At Aquacool, environmental concern is a fundamental part of our business strategy. We believe that water dispensers represent one of the most sustainable beverage choices available, directly replacing the need for countless single-use plastic bottles.
Operating sustainably and reducing our carbon footprint year on year is a significant priority for us. We’re committed to communicating the importance of environmental consciousness to our clients, ensuring our recommendations always have sustainability in mind.
Last year alone, our services potentially saved over 10 million single-use plastic bottles from ending up in landfills – a figure we’re immensely proud of and determined to improve upon.

Sustainability Measures We Champion

Eco-Friendly Solutions & Practices:

Plumbed water coolers, bottle filling stations, and drinking fountains eliminate the environmental impact associated with the extraction, transportation, and packaging of individual single-use bottled water. We actively encourage clients to use the most environmentally conscious options, such as mains-fed water dispensers, whenever possible.

Our water cooler bottles are designed for longevity – each one is reused up to 500 times to dramatically cut down on single-use plastic. At the end of their working life, bottles are responsibly recycled through certified programmes, ensuring they don’t contribute to environmental waste.

We also offer environmentally-friendly accessories, including biodegradable paper cups and reusable alternatives, giving our customers sustainable options at every level.

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint:

One in three vehicles in our fleet is electric, and we’re continuously expanding this programme. It’s estimated that switching from a diesel vehicle to an electric one can save an average of around 1.5 million grams of CO₂ in a single year – a significant impact when multiplied across our operations.

Our delivery routes are strategically planned to be as efficient as possible, minimising unnecessary journeys and reducing our environmental impact. We recommend plumbed-in water coolers wherever feasible, as these are the most environmentally friendly option, saving energy, water, and oil compared to bottled alternatives.

Internally, our business operations focus on minimising waste and maximising recycling. We have comprehensive programmes for items like batteries, toner cartridges, cardboard, paper, cans, and plastics. We also prioritise digital communications to reduce printing wherever possible.

All office computers, lighting, and equipment are shut down when not in use, conserving energy whenever possible and reducing our overall consumption.

Responsible Sourcing of Ingredients:

Our water is sourced exclusively from sustainable natural springs across the United Kingdom, ensuring we protect these valuable natural resources for future generations.

All bottled water undergoes local sourcing, filtering, and stringent testing to ensure the highest quality standards whilst minimising transportation distances and associated emissions.

Working with Sustainable Partners:

We collaborate closely with our suppliers to ensure all operations are efficient and to promote an environmentally-friendly product range throughout our supply chain.

Aquacool operates within the UK directive for recycling of electronic waste, as well as refrigerant gas recycling (WEEE) when our water dispensers, coffee machines, and equipment reach the end of their working life. This ensures responsible disposal and maximum material recovery.
