Coffee and Reasons To Keep On Drinking!

 

When it comes to drinking coffee, the camp can be somewhat divided. Whilst the majority of us can’t think about starting our day without the good stuff, others believe it’s better for us not to indulge and that it can negatively impact our health.

Here are 5 of our favourite reasons to start your day with a coffee:

 

  1. The caffeine! Known for its ability to fight fatigue and increase energy levels, caffeine is a great way to give you that energy boost to start your day. It has also been proven to cause a surge in dopamine, meaning you will be boosting your mood too – it’s a win win!
  2. Caffeine has been proven to help with weight management. According to research, drinking coffee can alter fat storage as well as improve your gut health, both of which play a role in body weight. Studies have also shown that drinking at least 2 cups a day increases your chances of meeting your daily required activity levels by 17% – We say get drinking and get moving!
  3. Coffee has been linked to lowering depression at fairly high rates! With one study suggesting that with each cup of coffee consumed, your risk of depression lowers by 8%. This links with our first 2 points – increased dopamine and physical activity and huge factors when it comes to our mood.
  4. Reduced risk of heart disease – studies have been carried out showing that regular coffee drinkers, consuming around 2-3 cups a day, can benefit from reduced risk of heart disease and a reduced risk of having a stroke. It is important to note that caffeine can affect blood pressure levels however, so it is advised that you are managing your blood pressure properly before consuming several cups per day.
  5. Your cup of coffee is brimming with antioxidants! Antioxidants protect your body against diseases that can be caused by oxidative stress, diseases such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Antioxidants are important for our every day health and something that people consider when making choices in their diet. Coffee has been proven to the biggest dietary source daily across the world!

 

Whilst we are huge advocates of coffee here at Aquacool, it’s important to remember that drinking it in moderation is the key when it comes to reaping the rewards.
